Stainless Steel 18-8 304/316 Carriage Bolt

Carriage Bolts, also called round head square neck bolts, generally feature a broad, shallow round head and are inserted into pre-drilled holes. The square neck under the head keeps the carriage bolt from turning as the nut is tightened. Carriage bolts are commonly used to fasten wood or wood and metal parts together.

Our carriage bolts with nuts are standard round head bolts with square necks and unified thread pitch carriage bolts. Made from low or medium-carbon steel (AISI 1006-1050 or equivalent steel) with a zinc finish. 

Application

Carriage bolts are ideal for fastening wood to metal. Alternatively, carriage bolts can also be used to fasten two pieces of wood together. Some specialty versions of carriage bolts allow for the effective fastening of two separate metal components. Finish

Stainless steel bolts are generally available in bright self finish. Stainless steel bolts are polished or ground after forging and other activities to provide them with a bright finish. Sometimes customers require stainless steel bolts to be Xylan coated to provide an added layer on top of the surface bright finish.
